2008 Montreal meeting

48 Montreals participated in the 22nd meeting, which was held in Luxembourg from 14 to 17 August 2008. It was organised by Laurent Schandeler and Jules Becker. The meeting hotel was the Alvisse Parc Hotel, situated in lush green surroundings only 5 minutes from the city centre. The meeting was held in memoriam of Hermann Christoforetti, the most senior member of the Montreal Register Europa, who died on 2 August 2008 at 91 years of age. Hermann was a founder member of the Register and had organized three of the earliest meetings in Austria.

Participants who arrived on Thursday were treated to a welcome dinner in most appropriate surroundings, with several classic cars (including an unrestored Montreal) disposed between the restaurant tables! On the Friday, the group drove through the historic centre of Luxembourg city and was given a guided walking tour including the battlements of the stronghold. In the afternoon, the Montreals drove through the beautiful landscapes of Luxembourg to the Moselle Valley for some wine tasting before returning to the Hotel Alvisse Parc for dinner.

On Saturday, the participants drove to Colmar-Berg for a "Learning by doing" training session on the Goodyear race track. Individual instruction was given on handling the Montreal in extreme conditions and in emergencies. The group then visited the medieval village of Larochette for lunch. In the evening a sumptuous barbecue dinner was served in a renovated romantic mill near Altwies. On the Sunday morning, Wes Ingram gave a talk about the Spica pump before the participants left for home.
