The 2003 Montreal meeting, which was organised by Beat Trinkler, was held at the Hotel National in Interlaken, Switzerland, from 11/12 to 14 September. The weather was splendid and a total of 70 people and 30 Montreals participated.
Montifans who arrived at Interlaken on the 11th were able to take part in a 6-hour drive over the famous "Three Passes" (Susten-Furka-Grimsel) Alpine route the following day, before being joined by later arrivals for a Swiss fondue dinner. On the 13th, the Montreal cavalcade made a tour of some of the beautiful sites of the Bernese Oberland, climbing up the Lütschine valley to Stechelberg and making a lunch stop at Aeschiried, high above Lake Thun. In the afternoon, the party visited the St Beatus caves, extending 1 km inside the Niederhorn massif, before returning to Interlaken for the traditional Gala Dinner.
