The 27th meeting was held from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 September 2013 in Hamburg, Germany, and was organised by Hans-Georg Tornow and Horst Lange. It was attended by 94 people (including 3 children) from 12 countries with 36 Montreals, one Montreal-engined Fastback Spider and 8 other cars. The meeting hotel was the 4-star Holiday Inn Hamburg, which is only a few kilometers from the city centre and perfectly located for Montreal trips within the city and to the surrounding countryside. Although Hamburg is the second-largest city in Germany (its population is 1.8 million), and street traffic is quite dense, the hotel is within easy reach of the autobahn and roads leading to the city centre. In addition to the main block of rooms in the 4-star Holiday Inn, a limited number of rooms were also reserved in the Bridge Inn, which is a 2-star annex of this hotel. These lower-priced rooms were available for participants under 40 years of age who needed a single room, or people who were involved in organising the meeting or who had organised one in the past.
The meeting programme included a harbour boat cruise with Tapas Buffet and visits to the Automobile Prototype Museum, Bardowick Cathedral, Lütjensee, and a guided tour of the International Garden Show "Around the World in 80 Gardens" with its educational and cultural events, leisure facilities, and new monorail. Josef Bürgi held a number of impromptu Montreal repair/adjustment sessions in the hotel parking area.
After lunch on Saturday Frank Hanel organised a group photoshoot at Fischerklause, and a Mediterranean Gala Buffet was provided in the evening. The Bernhard Schalbetter Memorial Trophy for the longest distance travelled to the meeting was presented to Sestilio Marcheselli, who drove to Hamburg from Rovigo in Italy. Before the final lunch of local specialities on Sunday, a short visit was made to the historic pumping station at the former Kaltehofe waterworks.
Alexander Radicke has written detailed accounts of the meeting in English and German.
