The 2023 Meeting, which was organised by Carlo Cecchinelli and Ivan Scelsa, the President of Cinemalfa, was held in the region of Milan, Italy, from 7 to 10 September and was attended by 114 participants with 52 Montreals and 10 other cars. The meeting hotel was the modern Hotel Ibis Styles Milano Est Settala, beautifully located in a 60,000m2 park located just 1km from the TEM Milan outer ring road. The prices for the event ranged from EUR 340 per person for participation alone, without hotel accommodation, to EUR 1360 for 2 people sharing a double room for 3 nights.
After the participants arrived at the hotel on Thursday 7 September, there was a joint evening dinner and a briefing on the next days' activities, followed by a screening of the 1974 movie The Marseille Contract, starring Michael Caine, Anthony Quinn and James Mason. On Friday, the participants drove via Lake Iseo to the beautiful Franciacorta wine-growing region in Lombardy. Lunch was provided at the Castello Bonomi in Coccaglio, and there were guided tours, visits and wine tastings. In the evening, there was a visit to the prestigious Alfa Blue Team, followed by dinner at the car collection.
On Saturday, the group drove to the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese for English, German and Italian guided tours of the exhibits, including concept cars that are not normally shown to the public. After lunch, participants were able to drive their Montreals on the small test track, with souvenir photo opportunities. Then there was an illustrated presentation of the history of the birth of the Montreal and its special features by museum curator Lorenzo Ardizio, who has been dealing with background communications about Alfa Romeo since 2011. Both of the Expo '67 concept cars were on display. After returning to the hotel, a conversation cocktail was held followed at 19h30 by the gala dinner. Poolside entertainment was provided and everyone was given a precious souvenir of the event. Preliminary information about the 2024 meeting was given, and although unfortunately Beat Trinkler was unable to attend, the administration of the Alfa Montreal Register Europa was formally handed over from him to Peter Bäck (son of the late Håkan Bäck). Beat has promised to help with the 2024 Meeting, which will be organized by the Rozum family in Pilsen in the Czech Republic.
Breakfast was provided on Sunday morning before participants departed to drive home individually.
